It’s been a while since I’ve played a multiplayer co-op game. That was in the year 2000, playing a Fighting Force game on a PlayStation One.

Well, unfortunately this article is not about PlayStation One games. Instead we’ll be looking at the upcoming game on Nintendo Switch; the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

My first perspective on this game is that it is provided with cartoonish animation about the Marvel characters, whether superhero or supervillain, in their battle environments.

Multiplayer Co-op Mode

The game is designed with up to four players to work together for a single goal. Similar to other co-op fighting games, you will be tested on your workload and ability to work as a team, using the skills that add value to the overall goal. For example, a crazy type of character like Wolverine is better suited to face a strong supervillain like Juggernaut.

The best part about multiplayer co-op mode is that it adds fun during those intense battles with those huge bosses. Engaging with friends or online players on your next battle strategies, weapon choices, and superhero choices adds a more competitive atmosphere during the pre-match battles.

Amazing Characters

The game offers 26 characters in addition to unlockables. All 26 characters have different fighting styles and abilities for you to explore. My personal favorites the Spider-Man and Wolverine are also selectable in the game.

Most famous super villains are also to be met like Thanos, Magneto, Wilson Fisk as Kingpin, Electro, Dr Octopus and many more.

Level Up

The beauty of this game is that you will have the opportunity to develop your superhero. Missions and side missions allow you to earn coins to upgrade your hero’s skill and possibly weapons as well.

Storyline

The plot of the game is built around the environment of the X-men, most especially the academy of the Xavier. The super-villains, most notably Thanos and Magneto will be part of the plot, which adds a bit of a cinematic atmosphere throughout the game.

Verdict

As a Marvel fan, I would definitely buy this game because I get the chance to explore the Marvel characters. So, that might add better replayability to the game.

However, the game could be repetitive as they do battles against the enemies. It really depends on how the Marvel Alliance series develops the AI ​​(Artificial Intelligence) in each battle, which balances between fun factor and challenge factor.
