Heathrow Airport in London is the busiest airport in the world. It is located 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) west of Central London. Heathrow had until recently five active terminals from where flights left London to almost any place in the world.

Around Heathrow airport you will find hotels from 3 stars to 5 stars. Most of these hotels have bus services running to and from all active terminals. With dedicated parking lots it is easy to find what shuttle the traveler will need to use to get to the right hotel. Prices for the hotels vary, upon arrival ask at one of the desks located in the arrival hall for the current rates. Most Heathrow airport hotels will have their own desk with information and the ability to rent a room right in the airport terminal.

In an attempt to make it more comfortable for passengers who connect to a different flight, rest areas have been added to many of the terminals within the airport. These areas are located after passport control. Transfer passengers do not leave the terminal there because they must follow the signs.

Heathrow is connected to Central London by the Piccadilly line which stops at terminals 1 to 5. Services start at around 5am in the morning and run until around midnight from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays the service to and from London starts an hour later. During peak hours the tube runs every 2 minutes to serve traffic to Central London.

The Heathrow express is a fast 30 minute service from Paddington Station to Heathrow Train station. This service was started in 1998 and is a branch line of the west coast main line. A surcharge for this service was introduced recently after the ability to check luggage at the train station was taken away for security reasons.
