What does salvation with Jesus really mean to you? Not to your mate, neighbor or friend. What exactly does it mean to you a christian personally? Does it mean Jesus Blood has washed you white as snow from the elements of this world? Is it a license to do what you want to do because you’ve heard once you’re saved, do as you please? God forbid!

May I tell you a story?

A wealthy lady, Susan, had a son 2 years old. She had hired a baby sitter to watch him several hours each day while she conducted her business. Hearing him screaming, she ran upstairs demanding to know why he was crying. “He wanted that vase, with the flowers and I wouldn’t give it to him” replied sitter. Well, give it to him and stop his screaming, give him what he wants the mother said.

After a little peace and quiet Susan heard her 2 year old screaming again.”Now what” she yelled over the child’s loud screams? “Well, you said give him anything he wanted and he wanted that wasp flying over his head and I gave it to him.”

You see…God has a plan for our life, a wonderful and blessed plan.It however is not what pleases men, but rather, what pleases God. Not our will. The Lords will.

Jesus salvation means literally to be set apart, sanctified, if you will, to live in harmony with the KJV Bible doctrine of “Holiness unto the Lord.” If God gave us every thing “we wanted,” we’d soon self destruct. Man was borned a selfish creature, seeking after his own desires.

That’s why the Bible teaches in 1Samuel 15:22…

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

Many christians give offerings and sacrifices without their heart really being obedient to what “God wants. Going to church each service, paying tithes, treating your pastor with respect are all good things. They are sacrifies but they will not save. Obedience will.

A woman was married to a very demanding husband. She got saved after their marriage. He told her to get up each morning by 4:00 to fix his breakfast. Lunch and supper had to be exactly on time. He treated her like a slave, but being a wonderful Christian wife,she obeyed. One day he had a heart attack and died.

Several years later she was introduced to a man by the pastor. He had recently moved there and started attending that church. They fell in love and got married. One morning she was fixing his breakfast and the thought suddenly hit her. Not once had her new husband demanded anything of her, but she was doing it out of love. She had never loved her first husband, and it was purely from sacrifice. This marriage however was grounded upon love for God and each other.

Salvation which comes from Jesus Christ is because He loves you so much He died for you. How much do you really love Him? Enough to be set apart for His complete will and obedience? Are you washed in the Blood of the Lamb?
