San Diego Family Vacation
There are lots of things to do in San Diego, Sea World, and the world famous San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park. The air is much easier to breath than Los Angeles and the scenery is phenomenal. To plan your perfect family vacation to San Diego you should narrow down your choices so that everybody enjoys the day.
Sea World is great place to spend the whole day watching shows and if you want you can feed and play with the dolphins. They have water rides so if it gets too hot you can cool off while riding Shipwreck Rapids or Journey to Atlantis. There are afternoon and evening shows featuring Shamu and other shows that focus on sea lions. There is even a sea lion show that makes fun of all the other show. Make sure to sit in the back if you don’t want to get wet. To have a once in a lifetime experience you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner with Shamu.
The world famous San Diego Zoo is a wonderful place to take the family. They don’t call it world famous for nothing. You can ride the Skyfari aerial tram from one end of the park to the other and witness a view of the whole zoo. There are shows for the kids and they can get involved with Mr. Zoolittle and learn about household experiments. You can bring your lunch into the park and find a shaded area and sit down. If you decide to ride on the bus tour they have up top seating and down below, if it’s a hot day its best to sit on the bottom.
The San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park is a great place to experience a safari type setting. You can walk around and view all the animals and take pictures. There is a car tour that takes you on a 30 minute drive and tells you about how the San Diego Zoo is taking care of animals. For those who want to ride in style they offer a personal Segway so you can tour the whole park without ever taking a physical step.
Another place to visit in San Diego is Knott’s Soak City. It’s the same as Knott’s Berry Farms Soak City but minus one ride, the luge. It’s a great way to cool off and relax while the kids play in the wave pool. Many of the rides have a height requirement but if a parent rides along the child can ride too.
The best value is to buy a park pass that lets you visit the zoo, the wild animal park and Sea World. You can get extra perks like a ride on the Skyfari at the zoo and a safari tour at the wild animal park. Sea World has plenty of show to keep everybody entertained. Make sure to get your family photo taken when you arrive at each park, you can view your photos before you leave.
