1. Ice water

In terms of weight loss, green tea is said to speed up the body’s metabolism and drinking several cups a day can cause your body to burn up to 35% more calories. Now I don’t believe this number is true, 35% seems like a lot and like many diet claims I would take this number with a grain of salt.

However, there have been many studies done on green tea and many of them have stated that it actually increases your metabolism which will help you burn more calories. If you’re looking for a weight loss drink that has health benefits and will make you lose weight, then I’d recommend trying green tea, but I’m not a fan of it myself. It’s not to my taste and I haven’t seen any weight loss effects when I’ve taken it in the past.

4. Whey protein

Taking whey protein alone will not help you lose weight, it will keep you fuller longer and also help you maintain as much muscle as possible while dieting. This should be the goal for everyone on a diet, quite often I find that dieters don’t know what they are doing and end up losing fat and muscle. This leads to them not being happy with the end result because they just end up with skinny fat.

If you’re watching your calories, then adding whey protein to your diet is a great way to get enough protein without breaking the bank. Whey protein is cheaper than the food equivalent. I recommend getting a good brand name protein so you actually get the amount of protein advertised on the package.

5. Coffee

Coffee is a great drink for weight loss because it suppresses hunger and increases metabolism. It will also give you enough energy to get through tough workouts. Drinking too much coffee will make you addicted to it and cause unpleasant side effects. Personally, I hate coffee, I never liked the smell or the taste. I also believe it’s not healthy and anything that can make your heart beat faster is not worth it to me.
