Proven Methods To Build Muscle Without Steroids

If you want to pack on lean muscle without using illegal drugs, then this might be the most important article you read all year.

Because in this article I’m going to show you three proven strategies for building muscle mass without illegal steroids.

First, I want you to visualize a timeline in your head. On the far left is 1850. Yes, I realize that’s over 150 years, but bear with me.

On the right side of the timeline is the year 2000 onwards.

Now here’s where it gets interesting. Steroids were invented in the 1940s, so almost all muscle building advice created AFTER the 1940s was influenced by steroids in one way or another.

So when you read a magazine or book about building muscle… if that book or magazine was written after 1940, there’s a chance the author used steroids to build muscle. That’s why I prefer to look at routines and strategies created BEFORE 1940. Because you know everyone who gained muscle before 1940 did so WITHOUT the use of drugs and steroids because steroids hadn’t been invented yet.

With that in mind, here are 3 strategies for building muscle without steroids. Each of these strategies were created, developed and implemented long before steroids were invented:

Strategy #1: Lift hard and heavy, short and sweet.

Most guys who complain about not being able to put on weight are simply doing too much in the gym. You should only train three times a week and each workout should only contain three exercises.

Back in the 1920s (before steroids were invented), a guy named J. Hise gained 29 pounds in a month by working out just three times a week. He also ONLY did the following three exercises.

Barbell Curls

Dumbbell presses

Dumbbell squats

Strategy #2: Eat (and drink) more protein

Of course, the real secret to gaining muscle is to eat (and drink) more protein. Muscle is made up of water and protein, so it only makes sense that you would need more protein as you gain weight.

Aim for eggs, beef, tuna, turkey, chicken, and anything else you can get your hands on. And don’t forget the milk. J. Hise drank over a gallon of milk a day during his bulking training.

Strategy #3: Sleep

It sounds simple, but sleep is the main key to building muscle without drugs. When you sleep, your body releases growth hormones and testosterone. Drug users can get away with less sleep because they inject artificial growth hormones and artificial testosterone.

But drug-free natural trainers like you and I need to maximize our body’s ability to produce the real thing. For ordinary people, 8 hours of sleep is enough. But for drug-free athletes, shoot for 9 or even 10 hours of sleep a night.

Remember: Before the light bulb was invented, our ancient ancestors slept 10-12 hours a night PLUS an afternoon nap. So, to maximize your natural hormones, get as much sleep as possible.
