The Raw Paleo Diet is the original human diet before agriculture. The Raw Paleo Diet is a raw fruit, raw vegetable, and raw organic/wild fatty animal diet. As a foundation for healing most ailments, following a raw paleo diet daily will produce dramatic and sustainable results.
My raw paleo adventure came with my desperate search for a cure for all that ailed me. The challenges of my life always needed a solution. Being trained as an engineer, computer geek, problem solver has led me to find ultimate solutions or something else.
I was born in 1969 and grew up like any city kid on baby formula, drugs, some fast food, lots of cooked food, and a twisted food pyramid high in cooked carbs and low in fat.
I was diagnosed with asthma when I was a child and doctors prescribed antihistamines. When I had cystic acne at 16, dermatologists bombarded me with steroid injections and creams. Finally one decided that I should take an experimental drug called Ro-Accutane. We had to go to the pharmaceutical company’s main office and sign a waiver because their drug was experimental and serious side effects were possible.
In 2004, I was bitten by sandflies while visiting the beaches of Boracay and suffered from itchy hands and feet for 2 years. After months on steroid injections and steroid creams I gave up and let it go and in 2006 the suspicion of leishmaniasis disappeared.
All my life I had folliculitis, red spots appeared on my body when I bathed, I got easily tired with strenuous activity, I had heartburn, shoulder pain when rotating to the left, I was hospitalized for various unknown viral diseases and I had a heart murmur called .mitral valve prolapse and at 170 pounds he became obese and wore 38 inch waist pants.
Beginning with my husband and I’s secondary infertility adventure in 2002, it led us to clean up our diet, eliminate junk food, and eliminate anything inedible from putting on our skin and ditching the microwave. And using raw oysters to increase sperm count.
In the same year 2002, while trying to get pregnant, I got sick with an unknown viral disease, I was hospitalized for 3 days, then I suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome for 1 month. The heart doctor who ordered a series of tests said the tests came up with nothing so he wanted to shape my heart by prescribing a heart shaping drug called a beta blocker but it can destroy my erection! This was so unacceptable to my personality as I only had one child and my life goal was at least more than 4. I vehemently refused drugs and found that by simply cutting out all sources of caffeine I was able to heal in 3 weeks. .
When my second child was born in September 2003, I was 170 pounds overweight and desperate to lose weight to look sexy enough to have more babies. I blindly tried the cooked Atkins diet. Then I sought out the teachings of a mainstream western medicine nutritionist and she taught me how to lose weight, cut back on starches and add vegetables. I lost weight and kept it around 140 pounds for a while. But I still wasn’t healthy.
In 2003, a small eczema started on my right lower leg, it was very itchy, I didn’t pay attention to it. In the middle of 2005, I had full blown steak-sized eczema on my right leg, my entire face, my ears, my left arm. I was a mess, couldn’t work, couldn’t go out, all 5 doctors I saw told me I was INCURABLE and would be like this for the rest of my life.
An incurable diagnosis was unacceptable to me. I’ve always been an open minded type. No DOGMA was my motto in life. I’m an engineer, a problem solver, if these so-called “doctors” said I was incurable, it only meant that they DON’T know the cure and that their common educational foundation is AMISS. I had to find people who KNEW the cure…NON DOCTORS so I went to a remote town where there were NO western doctors and my true journey to study health began with a 3rd generation herbalist named Manang Lorna.
I learned about electromedicine, herbs and detoxification: kidney, liver, colon and many other cleanses that cleared up my eczema symptoms. No signs of eczema. But I wanted more. I wanted good health. I knew there was more and I wanted to be healthy so much I had to learn more. All detox and no diet change meant no real cure.
In 2007, through Dr. There, Mateo encountered raw veganism. I tried 2 months of raw veganism his way, his recipes, his consultations, but I lost too much weight and finally gave up on raw veganism. I again added boiled meat and rice to the menu and to gain weight.
After that I was ready to fast and tried the 14 day orange juice fast under Barefoot Herbalist MH. It was an eye opener. I got rid of my addiction to boiled meat and rice. I was ready to try the raw fruitarian. And I tried raw fruitarian which only lasted me 2 months. I was thinner on raw fruitarians than on raw vegans, plus I was cold and living in a tropical country, warm Manila at 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. What finally got me to stop the fruitarian madness was when I asked for support when my cold feelings would stop. For a long time the fruitarian said it would take 5 years! That worked, I had to find something else.
I came across the Wai Diet by Wai Genriiu (a form of the Raw Paleo Diet). It was an easy step from fruitarian to the Wai Diet, just add extra virgin olive oil and raw fish sashimi and raw egg yolks to my tropical fruit. Bam! Instant feeling of good health! I gained a reasonable amount of weight from 112 to 120 pounds on the Wai Diet. Adding raw meat to my diet for less than 4 months was a life breather to my health.
After 3 months on the Wai Diet I got tired of only sea food, why not try land animals? I came across Aajonus Vonderplanitz who went on and on about the benefits of raw land animals, raw beef, raw chicken and raw dairy.
I needed some hand holding, some support to get started and found Geoff Purcell (in the UK) at AllExperts.com very accessible. He and Craig Bates started the Raw Paleo Forum which was very helpful for newbies like me.
I experimented with different raw land animals with duck, chicken, goat, lamb, frogs and my favorite was the raw organic grass fed beef… the legendary Batangas grass fed beef with delicious yellow fat is the truth! I experimented with many types of raw dairy from goats, cows and carabao and all failed, I just couldn’t digest dairy, I realized I was lactose intolerant. My tummy also disagreed with raw green juicing.
I was curious about the Homo Optimus Diet including cooked pork, I did my monthly experiment and felt that my health was worse on cooked meat compared to raw meat.
I found that on a raw paleo diet of organic fruit and raw fatty organic animal foods I didn’t get sick once in an entire year. I felt invincible. It was the first time for me, every day I expected not to be sick. The only time I got sick was when I tried eating a non-raw paleo diet. Plus I have biceps on my arms for the first time and I’m a sedentary computer geek. Heck, the talk about eating raw meat will make you gain muscle without hitting the gym, it’s true.
In 2009, I switched to a low-fat, low-carb, raw paleo diet and found it even more convenient. Gone were the shaky hunger pangs characterized by hypoglycemia that I had considered normal throughout my life when each meal arrived.
The raw paleo diet is the easiest diet I’ve followed, although high-quality organic fruits and organic meats are expensive. The Raw Paleo Diet is even easier than the regular SAD or cooked Paleo diet. Freeing yourself from the shackles of cooking is a dream that needs to be experienced. I seem to have found “home” because the raw paleo diet is so easy even a caveman can do it.
To further expand my access to the best possible food, I moved my company office to Cuba, right next door to my favorite wet market “Farmers Market” for daily fresh marketing.
My diet today is a high crude fat low carb diet consisting of:
* raw organic low-glycemic local fruits in season – fruits with high vitamin C content (guava, papaya, Indian mango), hydrating fruits (watermelon, watermelon), fatty fruits (durian, coconuts) we follow the seasons
* raw fertilized duck eggs brought from Palawan
* fat raw grass-fed Batangas beef and sometimes raw goat or raw lamb
* a variety of raw seafood such as oysters, clams, small and large fish, sea shrimp, etc.
* No extras. No supplements match the power of real food.
Raw paleo diet and its variants is healing. My own young children have experienced eating a raw paleo diet themselves. When kids are sick, I put them on a raw paleo diet like I do, they know the cure for their illness is RAW because they experience immediate relief. Children know who is the healthiest at home today.
At the end of this 2009 I will have been on a raw paleo diet for 2 years and now weigh a more respectable 128 lbs with a short 5′5″ height and a 31″ pant size waist. I always expect to reach new heights of health over the coming years as I gently improve and continually adapt. All my health problems were solved. It was only these 2 years that I felt really healthy.
Today at 40 I look younger, leaner and have more energy than I did when I was 30. It was on the raw paleo diet that I realized people were meant to be healthy and stay healthy, effortlessly.
