Milk Does A Body Good-If You Are A Calf

Milk can be a very sensitive topic. It excites our emotions. It plays on our heartstrings. It was our first meal after all. We associate milk with our mothers and our very first memories. We associate it with white, purity and goodness. Milk soothes us, nourishes us. We drink with food. We drink it with cake, cookies, and graham crackers, and put it on our cereal every morning.

We are often more emotionally attached to milk than to other foods.

We were taught that we must drink milk for strong bones and teeth and that most people in the world must drink it. In fact, most Americans believe that only 1% of the world does not drink milk. The truth is that about 65% of all adults in the world do not drink milk.

How could we Americans not believe that milk is anything other than wholesome and necessary for human health and fitness and bone and tooth strength when we all have milk slogans bouncing around in our brains?

Do these passwords sound familiar?

“Milk is good for the body.”

“Everybody needs milk.”

“Milk is natural.”

“Milk had something for everyone.”

“Milk isn’t just for kids.”

“Milk – nature’s perfect food”.

What about the National Dairy Board’s most successful ad campaign of all, which started in 1996 and is still going strong? What man, woman and child does not know “Got Milk?” ads? They are plastered in front of our faces everywhere we look.

According to celebrities, including athletes, movie stars and talk show icons who stick those white mustaches on their upper lips, milk is essential for strong bones, teeth, muscles and nerves.

Milk, it is claimed and paid handsomely for, offers “quality” protein, thus contributing to the myth that animal protein is better than plant protein, a myth or a lie that we have been raised to believe is true.

They also claim that milk will help you lose weight, be your best, and give you extra energy (our best energy foods are carbohydrates from unrefined plant foods like fresh fruits and vegetables.)

Did he get milk? I ask, “How much money do I have to put on those white mustaches?”

Yes, milk is good for the body if you are a calf and want to grow to 800 or 1000 pounds a year. Cows don’t even drink milk after weaning. Why? Because cow’s milk is made for small cows, not for adult cows and not for human beings.

Interestingly, humans are the only mammals on earth that continue to drink milk after weaning, and the milk is provided by another mammal!

Does it make sense to you, if you use common sense and not what you were used to thinking, that humans continue to drink milk after weaning into adulthood, and that the milk comes from another mammal?

What do our large herbivorous mammals like cows, elephants, horses, giraffes and great apes eat for strong bones and teeth, and big ones at that? Plant foods.

When in doubt about which foods provide the best nutrition for human health, look to nature for simple and healthy answers to food and health.

There is one and only one reason to drink milk and eat cheese: Because you like them and choose to eat them. Time. This is not because dairy products are needed for strong bones and teeth or for general health and fitness.
