Gossip Girl Episode 2 – The Freshmen
Ah…Gossip Girl fans, it’s back to school time and you know what that means. Wal-Mart, Kmart and flipping through circulars to find the best deals on clothes? Maybe for us Gossip Girl fans, but not for our Upper East Side friends. It’s orientation week, and this episode 3 of season 2, “The Firstmen,” proves that Gossip Girl isn’t always the instigator of drama.
The tables have turned and Blair finds herself at the bottom. Blair is determined to establish herself as queen, but her kingdom comes crashing down when Georgina arrives and announces that they are roommates. Blair’s scheme to take over a posh party is a disaster when everyone decides to chill with Vanessa and Georgina, who are watching documentaries instead. Gossip Girl ouch!
If Blair is at the bottom, who is at the top of the social hierarchy? TAX! Dan’s old piece at The New Yorker brings him friends, fans, and even a potential girlfriend (who looks suspiciously like a knocked-up Vanessa). GG fans, Dan does not disappoint. He uses his powers for good. He foils Blair’s attempt to crash Georgina’s party, which includes Blair’s invitation to a group of tambourine-playing Christians who are taking in information and ready to spread the gospel.
