The Sandstorm Trek is a unique pair of Scarabshell boots. It has some good mods, but it can be a little overwhelming for Diablo 2 players, except perhaps for Assassins who use martial arts and kicks to deal with their enemies.

This works as a small health boost for your character, with this perk helping melee characters as they get more health per point in Vitality. However, more life is good for any class, any build.

Poison Resistance +40-70% (varies)

Poison Resistance buffs vary widely, but if you’re lucky enough to get a couple of perfect Sandstorm Treks, it would give you 70% Poison Resistance, which would be a very respectable amount.

Repairs 1 health every 20 seconds

The only ones who would find this mod useful are the aforementioned assassins who use martial arts and kicks to dispatch their enemies. Since Ethereal Weapons have significant stat boosts, Trek’s Ethereal Sandstorm would provide higher kick damage for Kicker Assassins. Normally, there is no way to repair an ethereal item, so its durability will deteriorate as you use the item more and more, until a point where it drops to zero and you have to discard the item because it is now useless. With this mod, Assassin can equip Ethereal Sandstorm Trek for better kick damage and still be able to repair it through this self-healing mod.

Summary:

Most players find Sandstorm Trek underwhelming. While it provides a good poison resistance boost, Poison is really one of the less powerful sources of damage in the game, and there are other much better boots in the game. The only player who might consider Sandstorm Trek as a viable option for boots are Martial Arts Assassins, due to Sandstorm’s high level of kicking damage.
