The answer before the background
The Diablo 4 map now supports an official overlay and Pathfinder after the permanent 3.0 update. Use the overlay for movement while keeping the world visible, adjust opacity and zoom in Gameplay options, and bind its controls before entering a timed activity. Filter the map to the task: campaign objective, waypoint, Stronghold, Helltide, World Boss, Lair, dungeon, Undercity or War Plan. Permanent places such as Qara Yisu, Kurast Undercity, Zarbinzet and the Skovos capital Temis are not the same as rotating event icons. Verify a World Boss timer or seasonal Rupture in the live client because schedules and seasonal rules can move.

Overlay
Configure visibility before solving a route problem
Blizzard added the map overlay and Pathfinder as permanent features for all players in 3.0. The overlay can replace or complement the minimap, and its opacity, zoom, color and shortcuts can be adjusted. If the overlay seems absent on a controller or console, check current Controls and Gameplay settings rather than installing a third-party overlay.
An interactive community map can help list Altars, waypoints and side objectives, but its filters may represent an older campaign or expansion state. Confirm the region and version. A map marked Skovos or Temis requires Lord of Hatred; Kurast Undercity belongs to Vessel-era content; an old base-game map cannot prove either route.
Locations
Coordinates alone do not unlock an encounter
Astaroth, Varshan, Qara Yisu and Yshari Sanctum searches can describe bosses, Strongholds, quests or named places. Match the noun before routing. A quest instance may use a version of a location that differs from the open-world map, while a Lair icon can appear only after discovery or a required progression step.
For fishing, World Bosses and other time-sensitive systems, record the installed patch, region and current objective. Avoid publishing a permanent countdown that cannot update. Link to the live client and official event notice, then explain how to reach and verify the marker.
