This guide discusses APK sideloading risks and an apparently unavailable store listing. It does not provide or endorse an unofficial APK.

The answer before the background

Our recommendation

Ratropolis did receive an official Android release from Cassel Games, but its former Google Play page currently returns a 404 error. That means there is no verified active store download to recommend today. Do not use random APK mirrors as a substitute: no official APK archive, checksum, current version, or minimum Android requirement could be confirmed. If the developer republishes the game, install it through Google Play, check the listed device and Android requirements, and update only through the same trusted route.

Is there an official Android version?

Yes. Cassel Games’ own press-kit material lists Android among the supported platforms, and the developer’s Android launch diary says the mobile version was released through Google Play in 2021. The developer also published the package address used for that release: com.CasselGames.Ratropolis.

However, the official Google Play address currently returns a 404 page when checked on September 12, 2026. That is the important version-aware result: Android support was officially documented, but an active listing is not currently verifiable. The missing page could mean the app was unpublished, removed, delisted in some regions, or moved to a different listing. The sources checked do not establish which explanation is correct.

Cassel Games’ materials contain a small date difference. The press kit describes the Android release as July 2021, while the launch diary is dated August 1, 2021 and describes the release as having happened a few days earlier. Both sources support a 2021 Android launch, but neither provides current store availability.

  • Verified: Cassel Games listed Android as a platform.
  • Verified: the developer connected the game with Google Play.
  • Current limitation: the historical Play URL returns 404.
  • Not verified: an active replacement listing, current version, price, file size, or minimum Android version.

What this means

Treat old search results, download buttons, and package references as historical evidence rather than proof that the game is currently downloadable.

How to check Google Play safely

If you want to verify whether the game has returned, start with the Google Play Store app or the official Google Play website. Search for the exact game title and confirm that the developer is Cassel Games. Do not rely on a page that merely uses the same artwork or title.

Google’s normal installation process is straightforward: open Play Store, search for the game, select the matching listing, review the developer and app details, then choose Install or the displayed price. Google Play filters results by device compatibility, and its help documentation says the app page can show compatible active devices, download size, and the required operating system.

If the game does not appear, check more than one possible cause before trying a sideload. Google says an app may be unavailable because it was removed, is incompatible with the device, is not supported in the Play country, or is blocked by parental controls. Those explanations are more useful than assuming that an APK mirror is legitimate.

A genuine relaunch should show a normal Play listing with a developer identity, current release information, permissions, and an update path. If a supposed listing asks you to install a separate downloader, disable major security protections, or use an unrelated file host, stop and do not continue.

  • Search Google Play directly rather than using a third-party download button.
  • Confirm the developer name and app identity before installing.
  • Read the current requirements shown under the app’s details.
  • Keep Play Protect and Android security protections enabled.
  • If no listing appears, contact Cassel Games rather than guessing at an APK source.

Practical check

The historical package name can help you recognize references to the original release, but it is not proof that a file using that name is genuine.

Why an unofficial APK is a poor substitute

An APK can be installed outside Google Play, but the extension alone says nothing about whether the file is authentic. A third-party package may be repacked, signed by someone other than the developer, bundled with advertising code, or altered to include malware. It may also be an old build that fails on a current Android release.

For this game, the risk is higher because no official APK archive, checksum, release page, or current developer download was found. Without one of those verification points, there is no reliable way to confirm that a mirror’s file matches Cassel Games’ original build. A filename, package name, screenshots, or user comments are not sufficient evidence.

If you already downloaded a file, do not install it merely because Android displays an installation prompt. Delete it unless you can verify the source and signature through an official developer channel. If it was installed, uninstall it, run Play Protect or your trusted mobile security scan, review newly granted permissions, and change important passwords from a separate trusted device if you entered credentials into anything suspicious.

There is also a compatibility problem. The available developer material confirms the platform historically, but not the Android API level, processor architecture, screen requirements, storage footprint, or current save behavior. A sideloaded build may install and still crash, display incorrectly, fail to save, or stop working after an operating-system update.

  • Do not treat an APK mirror as official without a developer-published source.
  • Do not disable security settings to force an installation.
  • Avoid files described as cracked, unlocked, modded, or premium.
  • Do not assume that an old Android build works on every modern phone.
  • Prefer a republished Google Play listing or a direct developer announcement.

Recommendation

Until Cassel Games provides a current store listing or official download page, the safest answer is to wait rather than install an unverified APK.

What to do if the game is unavailable

First, search Google Play while signed in on the Android device you intend to use. Google’s compatibility view is device-specific, so a result seen on a computer may not mean that the app can install on your phone. Check the app’s About section for supported devices and required Android software if a listing is visible.

Next, check whether your Play country, parental controls, or managed-device restrictions are hiding the game. Do not change your country solely to obtain an old app, because Google warns that changing Play country can affect access to other content. On a work or school device, an administrator may also restrict installations.

If the listing remains absent, use Cassel Games’ official contact details or current website to ask whether the Android edition has been withdrawn, migrated, or scheduled for republication. Ask for the current official store address and minimum Android version. Until the developer confirms those details, there is no evidence-led way to recommend a particular APK.

If you mainly want to play on another supported platform, Cassel Games’ press kit also lists Windows, Mac, and iOS, but this article does not treat those routes as a substitute download recommendation. Platform availability can change, so verify each store independently.

  • Check the exact device in Google Play’s compatibility information.
  • Review Play country and parental-control restrictions.
  • Ask the developer for a current store page instead of requesting a random APK.
  • Record the Android version and phone model before contacting support.
  • Do not pay a third party for a file that the official store does not currently offer.
Uncertainty clearly stated

The available evidence cannot determine whether the mobile edition was permanently discontinued, temporarily delisted, region-limited, or moved. Only a current statement or listing from Cassel Games can resolve that question.

Common questions

Can I download the game from Google Play today?

The historical Google Play address associated with the Android release currently returns 404 when checked on September 12, 2026. Because an active official listing could not be verified, there is no current Play download link that can responsibly be recommended.

Is there a safe official APK file?

No official APK download or archive was found in the developer sources checked. Avoid third-party mirrors unless Cassel Games publishes a direct file and a way to verify its authenticity.

What Android version does it require?

The verified sources do not provide a current minimum Android version, CPU architecture, storage requirement, or device list. If the game returns to Google Play, use the requirements shown on its live listing.

Why might the game be missing from Play Store search?

Google says an app may be unavailable because it was removed, is incompatible with the device, is not supported in the Play country, or is restricted by parental controls. The current evidence does not identify which reason applies here.

Can I use an APK with the original package name?

A matching package name does not prove authenticity. A file can copy the original identifier while being modified or signed by another party. Install only from a current Google Play listing or a direct, verifiable developer source.

What we checked

Official listings establish current availability and product facts. Community pages are used for mechanics and build history, then labeled separately.
