The answer before the background

Our recommendation

The Diablo 4 Horadric Cube is unlocked through the Lord of Hatred campaign and used in Temis. It can transmute, customize and create gear, consumables, Talisman objects and socketable items. Official examples include adding, removing or rerolling affixes, rerolling items of the same quality, upgrading items, crafting Unique Charms, transforming Runes and producing higher gem tiers. Before confirming a recipe, read the exact 3.1 name, output, target restrictions and consumed materials. Preserve rare Runes, Tuning Prisms, Primordial Dust and socketed items until the build has a declared goal; patch notes have already corrected recipes, recycling and material behavior.

Separate permanent crafting from expansion-owned Cube access

The 3.0 update changed itemization for all players, but the Horadric Cube itself is discovered during the Lord of Hatred campaign. A base-game character can receive broad permanent system changes without owning this crafting station. Guides must label that gate before listing a recipe.

Cube materials come from several sources, including elite enemies, War Plan rewards, Undercity Tributes and Whisper Caches. The correct farm therefore depends on the recipe, not on one universal 'best material route.'

Craft toward a named Runeword or breakpoint

The Cube gives more control over Rune transformation, including routes toward specific Legendary Runes used by Runewords and Mythic crafting. A Jah, Que, Yom or Yul search should be answered by the current recipe and owned expansion, not a Diablo II formula pasted into Diablo IV. The products share names but not systems.

Horadric and Flawless Horadric gem tiers use Cube crafting beyond the Jeweler's older limits. Convert only after checking which gem effects the build needs and whether the recipe consumes another valuable gem type. Blizzard also changes conversion costs and material availability, so preserve the patch date with any table.
